Bangkok High-Speed Rail

Today, I read a piece of news about high-speed rail in Thailand. This is a good article. The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning in Thailand will advice to the government that it invest in the civil construction work for a national high-speed rail line. Permanent secretary for transport said the OTTP will support the plan by which the government takes sole responsibility for civil construction, including tracks and the government will require 800 billion baht to complete the construction work.

Last year, the ministry proposed the development of routes running from Bangkok to four destinations that Chiang Mai ( North of Thailind ), Nong Khai ( Northeastern of Thailand, Chanthaburi ( East of Thailand ) and Padang Besar, in Songkhla's Sadao district on the border with Malaysi and Economic ministers had wanted the train to run between Bangkok and Rayong to serve the Eastern Seaboard. The OTTP changes the line from Padang Besar to Hat Yai ( South of Thailand )because Hat Yai is the main centre of business in the South.

I think the high-speed rail is very useful for Thai people. It makes their life more comfortable because it takes a short time to move. The speed of the train is around 250 km. an hour, when you drive to the North of Thailand the time is around 7 or 8 hours, but if you take this train the time is around 2.30 hours. It is very fast. The high-speed rail can support to a tourist, they can travel in the beautiful place of Thailand more comfortable, especially Chiang Mai, North of Thailand is a great place, good culture, good weather and good atmosphere and Hat Yai, South of Thailand has a beautiful beaches and good sea foods. It can promote and makes money for tourism. Although a plan for the high-speed rail isn't successful, because this plan is a mega project. It uses a lot of money for build it, but I'll wait it because it has many benefit for Thailand.
