Bangkok High-Speed Rail

Today, I read a piece of news about high-speed rail in Thailand. This is a good article. The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning in Thailand will advice to the government that it invest in the civil construction work for a national high-speed rail line. Permanent secretary for transport said the OTTP will support the plan by which the government takes sole responsibility for civil construction, including tracks and the government will require 800 billion baht to complete the construction work.

Last year, the ministry proposed the development of routes running from Bangkok to four destinations that Chiang Mai ( North of Thailind ), Nong Khai ( Northeastern of Thailand, Chanthaburi ( East of Thailand ) and Padang Besar, in Songkhla's Sadao district on the border with Malaysi and Economic ministers had wanted the train to run between Bangkok and Rayong to serve the Eastern Seaboard. The OTTP changes the line from Padang Besar to Hat Yai ( South of Thailand )because Hat Yai is the main centre of business in the South.

I think the high-speed rail is very useful for Thai people. It makes their life more comfortable because it takes a short time to move. The speed of the train is around 250 km. an hour, when you drive to the North of Thailand the time is around 7 or 8 hours, but if you take this train the time is around 2.30 hours. It is very fast. The high-speed rail can support to a tourist, they can travel in the beautiful place of Thailand more comfortable, especially Chiang Mai, North of Thailand is a great place, good culture, good weather and good atmosphere and Hat Yai, South of Thailand has a beautiful beaches and good sea foods. It can promote and makes money for tourism. Although a plan for the high-speed rail isn't successful, because this plan is a mega project. It uses a lot of money for build it, but I'll wait it because it has many benefit for Thailand.

Bangkok Airport Train

Airport link is a new way for traveler. The Suvarnabhumi Airport Link (SARL) is an airport rail link under construction from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the planned City Air Terminal in Makkasan, Bangkok, Thailand. Suvarnabhumi Airport's Rail Link will begin in August 23 with special fares until the end of the year. The 28km rail link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan province east of Bangkok and the City Air Terminal (CAT) in Bangkok's Makkasan area, where passengers will be able to check in their baggage. The speed of the train is about 160 km. per hour. The fare at 150 Baht per trip. During the opening period, the fare charged will be 100 Baht.

And the City Line commuter trips, the fares at 15 Baht - 45 Baht, It take 30 minutes to reach the airport, departing from Phaya Thai, Ratchaprarop, Makkasan, Asoke, Ramkhamhaeng, Hua Mak, Ban Thap Chang, Lat Krabang stations, and will end at the last stop of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

I think airport link is very good for traveler and foreigner to go to Suvarnabhumi. It is more comfortable than taxi or bus. The fares is very cheap for takes it. It takes about 30 minutes to arrive at Suvarnabhumi. The speed is around 160 km. per hour. Taxi is an expensive fares and Bangkok has a problem about traffic jams, but airport link is a good choice for go to the airport and it faster than taxi. This is a new choice for traveler and I think this is the best choice to go to Suvarnabhumi. It is an express way !!

More Than 22% Primary Students Fail National Arithmetic Test

Primary Students Fail In National Arithmetic Test

Nearly a fourth of Pathom 3 graduates have failed this year's national arithmetic test, the Office of Basic Education Commission (Obec) revealed up to 523,469 students sat for the test after successfully completing the Pathom 3 level in the last academic year. Obec said these results prove that standards needed to be improved in many state schools.
"Of the Pathom 3 graduates, 22.29 per cent failed their arithmetic test" Obec secretary-general Chinnapat Bhumirat said , adding that the results were unsatisfactory even though the percentage of failing students had dropped slightly from 25.29 per cent last year.

I think this is bad thing for Thai education very much. Because, students has can not to do the National Arithmetic Test. Therefore,The Office of Basic Education Commission should change a base of education and adapt it for children. The government should set a format instruction new education by establish the school pilots. the government must lead education testing format at is using in now come to compare with the result of a student. when they meet the defect as a result bring to adjust better to go up.

The English is a Secound Official Language in Thailand

The Thai government is urged to announce English as its second official language to spur students to achieve English proficiency and help the nation place itself on the road map to the Asean Community in 2015. The announcement was made by a subcommittee on education standards development working under the committee on education reform. The subcommittee hopes it will be a boost for English teaching and learning in schools, which is seen as falling short despite state efforts to encourage students to learn the language from as early as Prathom 1 level. Although, the growing importance of the Chinese language in the business sector, English is still considered the most influential language for international communication.

I think it is a good chance for students. They can learn English since Prathom 1 level. When they grow up, they can use English for their life and job. English is the most important language because people around the world use English to communicate with their job or business. Thai people should speak English because it essential for their life.
